Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Research Engineer to bridge product development with customer needs. You will embed with product teams, test new models, build demos, and enable field teams with practical materials. You’ll travel to engage with customers and translate insights into roadmap signals for Research and Product.

The role blends research depth with field expertise and a strong focus on safe, impactful AI systems. Office-based in San Francisco with hybrid collaboration expectations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience building with large language models (LLMs).

Responsibilities

• Embed with product teams to build deep technical expertise as they develop.
• Own the technical GTM handshake for model launches—early testing, field readiness assessments, and ongoing capability education.
• Build demos, evals, and prototypes that showcase customer-relevant model capabilities.
• Develop enablement materials like playbooks, training sessions, and reference architectures with Technical Enablement.
• Engage hands‑on with strategic customers facing novel technical challenges and package learnings for the broader field.
• Synthesize insights from customer engagements to inform product roadmaps and research.
