Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a senior infrastructure/AI platform engineer to own the core AI hosting stack. You will stand up and operate on-prem AI servers, deploy AI systems to the corporate secure cloud, and drive security accreditation for our hosted solutions.

The role includes end-to-end ownership from development to operation within a high-assurance defense environment. You will influence the governance of AI workflows, implement telemetry and observability, and partner with leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in infrastructure, platform, or SRE with 3+ years in MLOps or model serving.
• Hands-on record of standing up model-serving or hosting in production.
• Experience with secure hosting environments (on-prem and air-gapped).
• Cloud development capability; fluent with open-weight models, quantization, and sanctioned endpoints.
• Proven ability to build, deploy, and operate AI platforms and governance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Stand up local AI hosting: model serving, MLOps, and server admin for on-prem and air-gapped environments.
• Deploy on the secure cloud within GCC High environment as a developer.
• Own security and accreditation engineering; work with security office to achieve ATO.
• Instrument everything you run: telemetry, observability, and failure intelligence.
• Build shared AI platform tooling and self-serve tools for the wider workforce.
• Ship only what’s been cleared: you deploy, others run the gate.
