Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. seeks a founding AI infrastructure lead to own the engine behind AIS's AI function. You will stand up AI hosting on bare-metal, deploy on secure GCC High cloud, and own security and accreditation engineering.

You’ll build tools and ensure end-to-end operability with strong governance and high-impact visibility. You will report to the AIS leadership, collaborating with AI leads across Delivery/Evaluation, and shape the platform that scales enterprise AI across signals

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or site-reliability engineering with 3+ years in MLOps or model serving.
• Hands-on record of standing up model-serving in production and operating it.
• Experience standing up a primary server environment without inherited platforms.
• Security engineering for self-hosted, air-gapped systems and cloud development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Stand up local AI hosting: model serving, MLOps, and server-level administration for on-prem/self-hosted environments.
• Deploy on the secure cloud and ship AI systems on the GCC High environment as a developer.
• Own security and accreditation engineering toward authorization-to-operate.
• Instrument everything: tracing, telemetry, observability as part of the build.
• Build and host the shared AI platform tooling and self-serve tools.
• Ship only what’s been cleared; you deploy and others gate quality.
