Job summary

Walker Bowen Talent Partners seeks an AI Platform Lead / Solutions Architect to design, build, secure, and operate a private AI platform. You will own model-serving infrastructure, gateway/router layers, and retrieval pipelines, while also shaping the corporate cloud strategy across public clouds in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience in software or infrastructure engineering, including at least 3 years focused on the design and operation of LLM or retrieval-augmented generation platforms.
• Hands-on production experience deploying and operating a high-throughput model-serving framework for large language models, with the ability to explain latency, throughput, and cost trade-offs behind design decisions.
• Strong architecture proficiency across major public cloud platforms, with demonstrated declarative infrastructure-as-code practice.
• Demonstrated experience designing for or operating within export-controlled, controlled unclassified information, or similarly regulated data environments, including reasoning about data-sensitivity routing and security boundaries.
• A track record of setting and holding engineering standards on a technical team, covering code review, testing, and release governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive, regulatory, and cross-site audiences, and the ability to work on-site in Dallas and travel internationally periodically.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture of our client’s private AI platform, including the model-serving stack, gateway/router layer, and the retrieval pipeline.
• Architect and enforce tiered hosting design separating regulated workloads from general-purpose workloads, ensuring controls satisfy export-control requirements.
• Lead model selection, evaluation harness design, and capacity planning for GPU infrastructure to support models.
• Set and enforce code-quality, code-review, testing, and release-governance standards for the platform team.
• Own corporate cloud architecture across public cloud providers, including infrastructure-as-code practice, cost governance, and reliability design.
• Communicate architecture decisions and trade-offs clearly to CIO, executive leadership, and technical teams across sites and languages.
