Job summary

Sauna is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build, refine, and scale the agent systems inside Sauna, from architecture to evaluation and deployment. You will focus on production readiness: fast responses, reliable behavior, traceability, and uptime.

You’ll collaborate with infra, frontend, and product teams to ensure agents built within Wordware work effectively for customers, with a culture of shipping robust AI systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in production software
• Experience building and deploying agent-like systems (multi-step LLM pipelines, tool-using bots, scripted assistants)
• Hands-on experience with agent orchestration and memory management (memory migrations, state organization)
• Tool use and orchestration (calling real APIs, using plugins, auth flows)
• Evaluation: success metrics, regression testing, and improving agent behavior over time
• Production-grade code and ability to work across systems without a spec
• Prefer candidates who ship rather than polish endlessly
