Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an engineer to transform incomplete business needs into working software with a technical approach. This hands-on, client-facing role spans delivery, product development, and rapid proofs of concept.

You will work with stakeholders to refine requirements, propose alternatives, and implement end-to-end AI-enabled solutions that integrate prompts, retrieval, APIs, and user-facing features.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building apps with large language models and/or retrieval augmented generation.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled applications with APIs, data handling, and front-end components.
• Ability to translate business needs into concrete technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take a defined technical approach and build it into production-quality functionality.
• Participate in requirements discussions with stakeholders to understand workflow and desired outcomes.
• Contribute design ideas to simplify solutions and reduce AI components when appropriate.
• Build end-to-end applications integrating AI capabilities, prompts, retrieval, APIs, and user-facing features.
• Document work with logging, traceability, and validation methods.
• Move between client delivery, product work, proofs of concept, and enablement as needed.
