Job summary

City of Houston Information Technology Services/Enterprise Application Services seeks a qualified professional for application support, development and coordination of change/release processes. The role is based at 611 Walker St., Houston, TX, with Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS or related field, 5+ years of tech experience, and strong skills in SQL, .NET, Visual Studio, DevOps, VB.NET, C#, REST APIs, Web Services, XML, HTML, and CSS.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in Microsoft SQL database, report development and .NET technologies.
• One or more years of Experience in Visual Studio and DevOps.
• Experience in NET technologies and programming skills in VB.Net , C#, Rest API, Web Services, XML, HTML, CSS
• Experience in Microsoft office products
• Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for business-critical applications, including proactive system monitoring, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution of critical incidents.
• Develop and troubleshoot custom applications and interfaces using programming languages within the .NET technology stack.
• Serve as the primary liaison to business and functional teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
• Work at the highest technical level across all phases of application systems analysis and support.
• Coordinate meetings and requirements-gathering sessions for support activities and enhancement requests, ensuring full understanding, documentation, communication, and execution of customer business needs.
• Oversee change management and release processes.
• Provide mentoring and training to team members as needed.
