Microchip Technology Inc. in Addison, TX is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer-Applications & Systems to support clocking and timing products across the full lifecycle—from definition to launch and customer support.

You will define product specifications, lead technical trade-offs, author datasheets and notes, troubleshoot complex lab issues, and collaborate with global teams in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and India while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• USA citizenship required for defense-related support.
• USA residency required for defense-related support.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 12.5+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of clock & timing technology and products.
• Experience with phase noise analyzers and scripting in Python/TCL.
• Embedded C programming experience.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Responsabilités

• Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge related to clock & timing.
• Author product definition specifications.
• Lead technical trade-off decisions on power, size, cost, and jitter.
• Author product datasheets and application notes.
• Perform competitive analysis and report findings.
• Visit customers for product promotion and on-site support.
• Review schematics and troubleshoot timing-related issues.
• Debug operation using specialized equipment in Microchip lab.
• Visit customers for on-site debugging of escalated issues.
