Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer I-Test to join the Timing and Communication Product Group (TCG) in Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ. You will develop test programs and help execute test development for SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers.

The role covers the full life cycle from initial specification through volume manufacturing, collaborating with applications, marketing, product and reliability teams to meet release schedules and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years in ATE test programming.
• Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and IC testing.
• Must have experience with ATE systems.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate test programs for timing-based products.
• Define and develop high-speed, low-noise ATE test boards.
• Review new product specs and advise design teams on manufacturability.
• Collaborate with applications, marketing, product and reliability groups.
• Establish manufacturing guard-bands based on data.
• Support customer sampling and offshore volume ramps.
• Support ongoing subcontractor test activity.
• Contribute to product cost reduction and yield improvement.
• Analyze returned devices and support customer requirements.
• Characterize and evaluate new products.
