Job summary

Kids for the Future in Killeen, TX is seeking an Applications System Administrator to develop and support enterprise applications and systems.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert in system administration for complex environments, and will recommend OS deployments, analyze requirements, and coordinate project directions to maximize customer benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science or related discipline; and four years’ work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Network+ and Security+ certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

• Recommend the redesign, deployment, and configuration of operating systems and system applications.
• Investigate and analyze feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications.
• Develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations.
• Track the day-to-day operations of the host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
• Install, modify, and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems.

Applications System Administrator

This position is responsible for the development and support of applications for the enterprise.

The employee will have the responsibility to:

• Serve as a technical expert in system administration for complex enterprise systems.
• Recommend the redesign, deployment, and configuration of operating systems and system applications.

• Develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in Computer Science or related discipline; and
• Four (4) years’ work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Network+ and Security+ certifications are preferred

Special Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license by date-of-hire
• Must be able to pass FBI criminal background fingerprint check and have the ability to comply with state and federal requirements for Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) standards.
