Asahi/America in the United States is seeking an Applications Engineer to be the technical authority for customers and the sales team, driving engineered solutions and project execution from concept to delivery.

You will lead with deep thermoplastics expertise, advise on material selections, and collaborate with design/manufacturing to differentiate our offerings. This role involves travel up to 25% and a focus on continuous improvement across products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in applications, product, or project engineering within plastics or industrial manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of thermoplastics and fabrication processes; CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD); familiarity with ASTM/ASME/ANSI/NSF standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for customers, distributors, and the sales team.
• Recommend optimized material selections (PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF) for demanding chemical, water treatment, life science, and semiconductor environments.
• Drive projects from technical concept through fabrication and delivery; resolve field challenges.
• Influence product development and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
