Job summary

Asahi/America is seeking an Applications Engineer in Lawrence, MA to be the technical authority for customers, distributors and the sales team, translating complex requirements into engineered thermoplastic solutions.

Drive projects from concept through fabrication and delivery, recommend material selections (PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF), analyze designs, support proposals, and provide training to close opportunities. Travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in applications, product, or project engineering within plastics or industrial manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of thermoplastics and fabrication processes (welding, machining, bending).
• Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, ANSI, NSF standards.
• CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for customers, distributors, and the sales team.
• Recommend optimized material selections for demanding environments.
• Drive projects from concept through fabrication and delivery.
• Review BOMs and specifications to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
