Job summary

MAAG Americas seeks an Applications Engineer for Polymer Pumps to translate complex polymer system needs into optimized equipment solutions. You will bridge sales, development, service and customers with deep knowledge of mechanics, polymer science and operating goals.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful product integration and information retention. This role requires travel and strong communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Polymer engineering; or an Associate Degree with 7 years relevant experience in lieu of a four-year degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Project management experience with external customers.
• Experience in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, heat treating.
• Mechanical or electrical design background.
• Proficiency with CRM/Database tools.
• MS Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
• Willingness to travel ≥25%, especially during training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert level of product and application knowledge.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams on project application engineering and project management including quoting, configuring customer systems, and managing project timelines and communication.
• Partner with engineering, service, quality, and supply chain teams to drive project technical success.
• Resolve technical support requests related to product selection, installation, etc.
• Support resolution of in-field customer issues via process optimization or new tech implementation.
• Capture customer requirements and convey them to internal teams.
• Support new product development and product improvements.
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment/technologies to enhance processes.
• Develop tools/guidelines to help internal teams address design risks.
• Plan and facilitate technical training for customers from C-suite to operators.
