Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an entry level Applications Engineer in the Networking Communication Systems unit in Hauppauge, NY.

The role focuses on USB and PCIe products, developing collateral, supporting evaluation PCBs, and delivering technical training to customers and field engineers. You will work with Design, Product/Test and Marketing teams to identify new applications and contribute to new product definitions; strong communication and embedded software fundamentals are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• 2.5–5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of electrical system design including mixed signal circuits fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of embedded software/firmware design.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop collateral for new product development including data sheets and application notes.
• Develop and support evaluation platform PCBs for customer use.
• Deliver technical training such as webinars and hands-on workshops.
• Provide direct technical support to sales teams and key customers.
• Collaborate with Design, Product/Test and Marketing teams to identify new applications.
• Assist in defining new products and market opportunities.
