Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer in the Networking Communication Group to support PCIe and USB products. You will help customers succeed using Microchip solutions, review schematics, and guide driver development in PCIe environments.

The role emphasizes customer enablement, creation of practical handbooks, and collaboration with field engineers. This position may involve travel and requires strong Linux and embedded programming skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, Python and embedded languages.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and build processes.
• Experience in customer support and enablement.
• Knowledge of PCIe/USB signaling and packet inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of PCIe driver development and debugging processes.

Responsibilities

• Review schematic and block diagrams for USB and PCIe using Microchip products.
• Provide driver debugging and development guidance for PCIe products.
• Answer questions from Field Sales engineers and customers during development.
• Create collateral: Application Notes, Knowledgebase Articles, Software Examples, Implementation Manuals.
• Identify gaps in enablement material and set goals to address them.
• Create high level requirements for development teams to improve customer experience.
