Job summary

ZEISS Group in Wixom, MI is seeking an Applications Engineer Level 2 to join our metrology training team. You will deliver comprehensive training programs, both in-house and on-site, and support customers with software and application expertise.

Qualified candidates hold a technical bachelor's degree and have 3+ years in an applications role, plus skills in interpreting engineering drawings, 3D math, scientific programming, and clear communication. Hybrid work: 3 days in office, 2 remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field is required.
• 3+ years in Applications Engineer Level 1 or equivalent experience.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings for dimensional control requirements.
• Proficiency in 3D mathematics and programming in modern scientific computing languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training on ZEISS Industrial Metrology systems, including standard in-house training, on-site training, and customized client-specific courses.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support for ZEISS software and applications; document issues and report on performance.
• Assist with project quotations, time estimates, and maintaining project data; implement quoted solutions via remote, classroom, or on-site delivery.
