Job summary

Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC is seeking an Applications Engineer Level 2 to support revenue growth by delivering metrology services and turnkey hardware/software solutions. You will ensure successful launches, maintain customer satisfaction, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires travel across the USA and internationally, and a four-year engineering/math/physics degree or equivalent metrology experience.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, Math or Physics.
• Or 3 years of experience in the Metrology industry.
• Level 2 adds 3 years minimum experience in the role of Applications Engineer Level 1.
• Equivalent experience considered if hiring externally.
• Ability to read engineering drawings for dimensional control.
• Operate ZEISS measuring machines including programming via ZEISS software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independent learning.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Consult at customer sites to ensure successful implementation of ZEISS 3D Scanning and CT/Xray solutions.
• Develop customer training requirements including on-site workshops, on-location training or classroom sessions.
• Coordinate with customer engineering, quality and manufacturing teams to confirm scope and changes.
• Be the single point of contact for CAD data provided by the customer.
• Utilize ZEISS solutions to support automated scanning and inspection of parts and assemblies.
• Create standard operating procedures based on experience to share knowledge.
• Create basic and advanced inspection layouts with reports per customer needs.
• Program robot cells using ZEISS Inspect Pro software.
• Provide customer confidence through timely, accurate deliverables.
• Onsite support during 1–2 week engagements to ensure rollouts and satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with ZEISS support for next steps.
