Job summary

Grundfos is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge customer requirements with advanced water technology, delivering energy-efficient, high-purity water solutions. You will design, estimate, and specify equipment while collaborating with Sales to align technical and commercial outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering calculations, supplier evaluation, and cross-functional teamwork with Project Management and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in applications engineering, technical sales support, or system design.
• Strong understanding of high-purity water treatment, system hydraulics, sanitary design, and water-quality requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Define technical and commercial scope for high-purity water treatment solutions.
• Develop conceptual designs and preliminary engineering calculations for sizing and estimating.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and identify value-engineered alternatives.
• Evaluate equipment options based on technical suitability, availability, lead times, and pricing.
• Suggest practical, technically sound solutions for customer challenges.
• Partner with Sales to align technical and commercial strategy for Grundfos-proposed solutions.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support during bid reviews.
• Maintain equipment and system costing data for standardized estimating libraries.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to establish material costs and lead times.
• Review purchase orders for scope, pricing and project budget.
• Prepare and deliver technical and commercial turnover packs to Project Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
• Lead technical review and turnover meetings.
