Job summary

8700 SEW-Eurodrive, Inc. is seeking a skilled technical specialist to provide troubleshooting and repair of SEW-EURODRIVE electronic controllers and electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites.

The role includes frequent domestic and international travel and a pay range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 1–3 years' experience with industrial VFD drives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/technology or equivalent.
• 1–3 years' experience with industrial VFD drives.
• Ability to read parts lists, catalogs, price books and factory instructions.
• Understand nomenclature and product numbering for SEW-EURODRIVE products.
• Operate test instruments (multimeter, scopes, strip chart recorders).
• Experience with AC variable frequency controllers and servo motor controllers.
• Knowledge of PLC types and ability to troubleshoot/modify programs.
• Experience with industrial fieldbus (DeviceNet, Profibus) preferred.
• Ability to read control wiring diagrams.

About the Role

Currently the position involves providing technical assistance and troubleshooting/repair of SEW-EURODRIVE electronic controllers and other electro-mechanical equipment which includes frequent travel to Customer sites. Pay Range $70,000 to $85,000 annually. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Candidates with additional relevant degrees or certifications and extensive experience may be considered for the higher end of the salary range. Top eight skills and abilities being sought for this position: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/technology or equivalent, plus 1-3 years' experience with industrial VFD drives. Ability to read and understand parts lists, catalogs, price books, general factory instructions and SEW-EURODRIVE customer service procedures. Ability to understand nomenclature and number assignments of the SEW-EURODRIVE products. Ability to operate various test instruments, i.e. multimeter, oscilloscopes, strip chart recorders, etc. Must have experience with AC variable frequency controllers and servo motor controllers. Knowledge of various types of PLC's and ability to troubleshoot and modify programs. Experience with industrial fieldbus (DeviceNet, Profibus) preferred. Ability to read control wiring diagrams.

• Provide technical assistance over the phone.

• Frequently travel on Company business to any required destination domestically as well as overseas.
• Frequently stay overnight for extended periods of time, obtain lodging, and occasionally conduct business in the evenings, weekends, and holidays outside of normal business hours.

A 10% shift premium is paid for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
