Job summary

SEW-EURODRIVE is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to support manufacturing automation. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot automated systems to improve productivity, quality, and safety on the 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Controls Engineering with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to interpret and create electrical prints.
• Experience with CAD applications (AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN / Visio).
• Extensive knowledge of Rockwell Automation hardware/software.
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI hardware/software from Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, etc.
• Familiarity with serial/digital protocols (Ethernet IP, Profinet, RS232, CAN).
• Experience designing and implementing system designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit PLC and HMI programs for internal equipment.
• Select and configure control components, sensors, drives for projects.
• Design electrical schematics, network diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Support development and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
• Identify cost reduction and optimization opportunities.
• Evaluate systems for operational safety and make recommendations.
• Configure interfaces to other control systems (PLCs, HMIs, robots, sensors).

About the Role

BASIC PURPOSE - Currently this position provides support to manufacturing automation. Designs, advises, implements, and troubleshoots automated systems to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety. Shift - 1st Pay - $95,000

A 10% shift premium is paid for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.

Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Controls Engineering with 5+ years of experience in the industry.


• Ability to interpret and create electrical prints


• Ability to use CAD Applications such as AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN / Visio


• Must have extensive knowledge of Rockwell Automation software and hardware.


• Must have knowledge of other PLC and HMI hardware and software products from vendors such as Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, and others.


• Must have knowledge of serial/digital communication protocols i.e. Ethernet IP, Profinet, RS232, CAN, etc.


• Must have experience implementing system designs.
