Job summary

Planar Systems in Detroit is seeking an Applications Engineer to help customers develop and implement our industry-leading display solutions. You will serve as the primary technical contact for consultants, architects and designers, guiding pre-sales discussions and coordinating with sales and product teams.

You will train customers, provide installation support, create technical documents, and assist with proposals. Regular travel to Canada and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a technical sales role, preferably in a B2B technology company.
• A/V product knowledge and customer-facing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to Canada regularly.
• Ability to work in a team and solve problems creatively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trainings and presentations for customers and Sales.
• Provide pre- and post-sale integration and application development support.
• Collaborate with Sales to initiate technical discussions with customers.
• Create technical documents and drawings in support of sales.
• Provide on-site support for training and installations as required.
• Travel to Canada regularly and maintain vehicle readiness.
