Job summary

Hyson is seeking an Applications Engineer in Brecksville, OH to design and quote engineered solutions for Hyson customer applications. The role interfaces with customers to capture requirements and translate them into precise specifications for manufacturing.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, apply APQP, and collaborate with sales, service, and production to deliver manufacturable, high-quality designs that meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering
• Experience reading customer drawings, specs, procedures and standards
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or interns preferred

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and translate into technical specifications and quotes
• Design, develop, and quote application solutions that are manufacturable
• Provide technical guidance to sales and customers to win and retain business
• Review designs for engineering principles, standards, and contract compliance
• Create detailed drawings and specs, identifying critical-to-quality features
• Collaborate with management, service, sales, and manufacturing to meet specs
• Apply APQP to design quality into products the first time
• Support manufacturing with new product reviews and process improvements
• Prepare clear customer instructions and support installations and testing
• Mentor team members and co-ops to build engineering capability
• Adhere to Code of Ethics
