OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering design and customer requirements, providing technical expertise, product customization, and application support.

The role involves collaborating with sales, design, and production, analyzing specifications, preparing BOMs and reports, and delivering on-site support as needed. Strong CAD skills and customer-facing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or applications engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with sales, design, and production teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored mechanical solutions.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, including CAD drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and application reports.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or applications engineering (entry-level may be acceptable depending on the organization).
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and technical sales tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ISO, etc.).
• Fundamental knowledge of rotating equipment, shop repair practices, including fabrication, preferred.
