Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Hazelwood, MO to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, and related components. The role supports both shop and field service, ensuring OEM specifications are met and safe, efficient operation is maintained.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong knowledge of motors, pumps, and mechanical systems, and the ability to read electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in rotating equipment repair, maintenance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and associated components.
• This role supports both shop and field service operations, ensuring equipment is restored to OEM specifications and operates safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on rotating equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• Perform electrical testing including insulation resistance (megger), winding checks, and continuity testing.
• Troubleshoot motor control systems, starters, and VFDs.
• Conduct alignment (laser/dial), balancing, and vibration checks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on customer equipment.
• Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and repair recommendations.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25/hr. to $30hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in rotating equipment repair, maintenance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electric motors (AC/DC), pumps, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of VFDs, PLC troubleshooting, or motor controls.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments.
• Welding experience is a plus.
