Eaton’s EPG CHD MTL Measurement Technology Limited division is currently seeking an Applications Engineer. This is a remote opportunity for candidates currently residing within the United States.

We manufacture over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including conduit fittings, cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, luminaires, plugs, and marine products. Our Houston, TX site focuses on LED lighting fixtures and control panels, with a team of 50 employees committed to problem-solving and efficiency.

The expected annual salary range is $93,750.03 - $137,500.04, based on skills, experience, and market considerations.

What You’ll Do

Support MTL customers with technical applications, assist with application design, and answer inquiries regarding MTL products, installation standards, and codes. Act as a technical expert to facilitate the use of MTL’s product line in customer designs.

Areas Of Focus

• Provide customer support via email or phone.
• Be the technical expert in the MTL product portfolio.
• Support sales channels and help close sales.
• Conduct technical training and support team members.
• Travel within North America and Latin America as needed.
• Train and support reps and distributors in person or via Teams.

In This Role You Will

• Influence customer decisions through product and application expertise.
• Review applications and suggest appropriate MTL products.
• Assist with calculations related to cable lengths, resistance, voltage drops, etc.
• Support sales visits and provide product training.
• Respond to technical inquiries and provide application feedback weekly.
• Identify technology needs and provide recommendations.

Qualifications

Basic (Required):

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Instrumentation Engineering OR 5 years’ experience with field devices and control systems.
• At least 5 years’ experience in application engineering and sales support.
• At least 3 years’ experience with NEC/IECEx codes and basic understanding of Intrinsic Safety.
• Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of process automation and field devices.
• Familiarity with process loops like 4-20mA, HART, etc.
