Position: Chemical/Environmental Senior Applications Engineer
Location: US - Remote

Hours of work: Full-time position, Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 PM

The Senior Applications Engineer provides lead technical support for the sale of carbon, equipment, and service in domestic or international markets. This role interfaces with Equipment Engineering, R&D, Product Management, and Sales to justify the use of activated carbon technology in customer applications. It also involves developing emerging markets/applications and supporting global business development, potentially supervising entry or intermediate applications engineers.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Using technical expertise and computer models to select appropriate carbon and equipment for liquid and vapor phase applications.
  2. Setting up and monitoring pilot trials, providing design info for full-scale systems.
  3. Interpreting data from lab and field trials to recommend designs and operations.
  4. Troubleshooting customer issues like short filter runs or breakthrough.
  5. Supporting geographic regions and Technical Sales Reps with application engineering.
  6. Collaborating with R&D on new carbon products and applications.
  7. Providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers and overseas colleagues.
  8. Preparing and delivering technical training and ensuring consistent technical messaging.
  9. Developing strategies with leadership to expand business and adopt CCC technology.
  10. Reviewing results, troubleshooting variances, and adjusting strategies.
  11. Leading technical efforts on global initiatives and projects across regions.
  12. Supporting sales projects and liaising between sales and support teams.
  13. Reviewing bid specs and recommending improvements.
  14. Serving as main contact for customers when needed.
  15. Participating in industry forums, conferences, and trade shows; presenting papers and posters.
  16. Developing technical presentations and training for various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in applying carbon adsorption technology, including modeling and equipment design.
  • 5-7 years troubleshooting adsorption equipment at customer sites.
  • Experience in business/marketing is preferred.
