Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. seeks an Applications Development Intern to work on-site in Erwin, TN.

You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software with C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core, under guidance from experienced developers in an agile environment. You should be enrolled in a CS/IT degree, have completed at least one year of study, and have two years left, with strong OO programming skills and SQL Server knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Completed at least one year of study, including first year CS curriculum.
• Have at least two years of school left and desire to work part time throughout the semesters.
• Experience with Object-Oriented programming.
• Familiarity with C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET.
• Familiarity with SQL Server and database design.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizen; able to obtain/maintain DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
• Work under a project lead, typically an NFS Programmer/Analyst.
• Develop applications per specifications and requirements.
• Ensure apps are functional, secure, and compliant with policies.
• Participate in requirements gathering, test plan creation and execution.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing with end users and stakeholders.
