BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Junior .NET Application Developer to join our team and support the development and maintenance of enterprise applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong computer science foundation to grow in real-world, production-level software development. You will work alongside experienced developers to learn our architecture, contribute to new features, and help ensure system reliability while gaining hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Academic experience or internship exposure to .NET development (VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core, or .NET Framework) required.
• Basic understanding of SQL (writing queries, joins) required.
• Solid foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with layered architecture and separation of concerns from coursework or projects.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and work within large, established codebases.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining features within large .NET applications.
• Work with VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+ or .NET Framework.
• Write and maintain basic SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software issues with support from senior team members.
• Help prepare and update technical documentation.
• Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements, existing logic, and best practices.
• Take part in code reviews to learn and apply feedback.
• Support continual improvement initiatives within the team.
