As an Application Developer in the PUC's Product Development Section, you will play a critical role in advancing the agency's digital services. You will design, build, and maintain applications that directly support internal operations and public-facing platforms used by citizens and stakeholders statewide. You will be expected to analyze user and system requirements, develop solutions in a Microsoft .NET environment, and ensure your work meets performance, security, and accessibility standards. This role relies on a strong understanding of software engineering principles, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, user-centered systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Application Development and Enhancement: Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using .NET 6/7/8, Visual C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and related technologies; maintain enhance existing applications while contributing to modernization and migration efforts toward newer frameworks and platforms
System Integration: Build APIs and integration layers that connect internal systems and enable efficient data exchange between platforms
Database Management: Develop and manage SQL Server database objects, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing performance
Requirement Gathering: Work with stakeholders and end-users to translate business needs into technical specifications, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and debug application problems through root cause analysis and diagnostic tools, document solutions and implement preventive measures
Security Compliance: Ensure applications meet cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory standards
