Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Application Development Lead to provide technical leadership across the design, development, and delivery of software applications within secure, scalable platforms.

You will partner with solution architects, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to drive initiatives, manage SDLC, and ensure reliable, compliant solutions that support rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation or Business.
• Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in application development or technology management, or 2+ years with Master’s.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of technology products and applications using best practices.
• Coordinate system installation and software testing through all phases of the SDLC.
• Lead modernization and remediation of technical debt for technology products and applications.
• Assist teams in root‑cause analysis and provide resolution options.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security to design scalable, highly available platforms.
• Design with capacity planning, performance tuning, failover and recovery in mind.
• Drive cloud‑native architectures and containerization where applicable.
• Oversee environment strategy (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) with governance across environments.
• Ensure observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) supports proactive issue management.
• Collaborate on disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
