Job summary

A leading utility services provider is seeking an experienced professional to support and maintain Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) and Energy Management System (EMS) environments. You will be responsible for model validation, defect resolution, and ensuring system functionality. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience with EMS applications, strong technical skills in system restoration, and familiarity with GE PowerOn Reliance or equivalent platforms. This role requires hands-on experience in both Linux and Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience deploying fixes and performing maintenance on live customer systems.

Job description

The role focuses on supporting and maintaining Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) and Energy Management System (EMS) environments used in mission-critical utility operations. You’ll be responsible for model validation, defect resolution, and restoring system functionality in live and simulated control room systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform model validation and defect fixing for DTS systems
• Execute technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded EMS services
• Conduct break/fix activities including code review, deployment, testing, monitoring, and post-implementation support
• Install and deploy fixes and patches on live customer systems
• Administer and optimize EMS platforms through application configuration, tuning, and security patching
• Support simulated and real-time integrations including RTUs, IEDs, ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus, and data modeling (XML/JSON)
• Analyze logs and debug files to diagnose and resolve system issues

Technical Requirements

• Hands-on experience with GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS, or equivalent EMS platforms (Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider)
• Strong knowledge of EMS applications including Power Flow, State Estimation, Contingency Analysis (N-1), AGC/LFC, and DTS
• Experience creating and validating DTS models and simulation events
• Proficient in Linux and Windows environments
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Programming or scripting experience in C, C++, Perl, SQL, and shell scripting
