Job description

⚡ EMS / DTS Engineer – Power Systems Simulation & Grid Operations

We’re looking for an experienced EMS / DTS Engineer to help deliver and maintain cutting‑edge Energy Management Systems (AEMS – Reliance) and Dispatcher Training Simulators (DTS) that power real‑time grid operations across the U.S.

You’ll work with major utilities on live and simulated control environments — developing, configuring, and fine‑tuning systems that operators rely on to keep energy flowing safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do
  • Configure and customise DTS and AEMS Reliance systems for real‑time grid simulation and training.
  • Design and test EMS features using C++ / Java / Oracle / SQL in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Integrate and validate data through ICCP, DNP3, IEC, and Modbus communication protocols.
  • Build and maintain sandbox and simulated RTU/IED environments to replicate real control‑room scenarios.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance — interpreting logs, schemas, and data models (XML / JSON).
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years in Energy Management Systems (EMS) development or support.
  • Hands‑on with AEMS Reliance (or similar platforms).
  • Solid understanding of Power Systems fundamentals and control‑room operations.
  • Strong C++ / Java / Oracle / SQL / Shell scripting skills.
  • Exposure to data modelling, SCADA protocols, and system mapping.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary $90K – $160K + performance bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid training & certification support
  • Hybrid work setup, flexible PTO, and clear growth paths

If you’ve worked with EMS or DTS systems, know your way around AEMS Reliance, and want to make a real impact in grid modernisation, we’d love to hear from you. ⚙️
