Job summary

V Group Inc. is seeking an Application Support professional for the New York City HRA/DSS engagement, located in Brooklyn, NY. The role focuses on web and Windows-based applications, system analysis, SQL reporting, and user training.

You will work with MIS leaders, developers, and project managers to implement and maintain applications, reports, and security controls. The position requires a minimum of 4 years in design/analysis, SQL reporting, and end-user support, with responsibilities

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical analysis of system data and produce performance reports.
• Resolve user issues and coordinate with MIS team for complex IT problems.
• Prepare tutorials and conduct user training with minutes and recommendations.
• Maintain system security and safeguard vendor/contract information.
• Test programs, integrate modules, monitor QA standards, and coordinate data extracts.

Scope of Project:

Responsibilities:

• Develop system-design specifications, solution-design documentation, and structured diagrams for database, communication, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations.
• Analyze existing systems; document improvements and alternative solutions; gather user requirements; and prepare user-requirement documents and system specifications.
• Develop operational, installation, and system-maintenance procedures, including guidance for upgraded database, hardware, operating-system, network, security, and client-server support processes.
• Work with MIS managers, senior programmers, support staff, and project managers to plan application implementation, enhancements, and changes.
• Create, test, maintain, and support in-house applications; design reports, audit trails, logs, and security mechanisms.
• Perform statistical analysis of system data and design operational and performance reports.
• Resolve user issues, coordinate follow-up with MIS team members, and provide technical assistance on complex program, database, and IT issues.
• Prepare tutorials, conduct user training, and facilitate periodic group meetings with meeting minutes and recommended short- and long-term solutions.
• Maintain system security, including user additions and updates, and safeguard sensitive vendor and contract information.
• Test programs and systems, integrate system modules, monitor IT quality-assurance standards, and coordinate data extracts and warehouse lookups.

Required/Preferred Skills:

A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:

• Managing day-to-day end user communication to ensure smooth and productive working relationships.
• Designing SQL Server 2008 databases, stored procedures and integration services.
• Designing Data transformation from one source to others using various tools.
