Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a senior production support engineer in Sunnyvale, CA, to manage 24x7 production support, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead incident response with strong AWS and Linux/Windows expertise.

You will handle L2/L3 support, coordinate with multiple teams, implement changes, and optimize performance using monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus. Strong ITIL practices and proactive communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in application/production support.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-based application support.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience handling critical production incidents and major incident management.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
• Expertise in AWS - EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), Lambda, VPC, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancer (ALB/NLB), Route 53, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS (preferred)
• Expertise in Application Support - Production Support (L2/L3), Incident, Problem, and Change Management, SLA & KPI Management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Performance Tuning, Application Monitoring, Release & Deployment Support
• Strong Knowledge in SQL / NoSQL Databases, Query optimization & performance analysis.
• Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows systems
• Expertise in Shell Scripting/Python/Terraform
• Strong knowledge in Monitoring and Logging - Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus
• Knowledge in ITSM tools - ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, 24x7 production support environment.

Must Haves: Java development experience, support experience in Linux and AWS, Production Support experience, Scripting Shell Scripting/Python/Terraform, Rest API, SQL, Microservices and Git.
