Job summary

V Group Inc. is seeking an Application Support professional in Brooklyn, NY, for the HRA/DSS HASA Web Business Analysis and User Support team.

You will develop system designs, analyze existing systems, and support complex IT solutions for housing and related services. The role requires 4+ years of experience in Windows/Web applications, SQL reporting, and user training, with emphasis on security, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in design/analysis for Windows and Web-based applications.
• Experience in designing document management systems and AD-based security.
• Experience designing telecommunications, workflow and payroll management systems.
• Proficient in SQL for statistical analysis and reporting.
• Ability to create user tutorials and conduct training.
• Experience designing SQL Server 2008 databases, stored procedures, and SSIS.

Scope of Project

HRA is developing systems for HASA Housing and Homeless Services that support emergency-housing inspections, landlord agreements, vacant-apartment registration, client and family matching, apartment inspections, utilization tracking, and applicable New York State reimbursement. The browser-based and mobile-connected systems support landlords and clients, integrate pertinent documents with the HRA Imaging Repository, and comply with Local Law 73 multilingual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-design specifications, solution-design documentation, and structured diagrams for database, communication, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations.
• Analyze existing systems; document improvements and alternative solutions; gather user requirements; and prepare user-requirement documents and system specifications.
• Develop operational, installation, and system-maintenance procedures, including guidance for upgraded database, hardware, operating-system, network, security, and client-server support processes.
• Work with MIS managers, senior programmers, support staff, and project managers to plan application implementation, enhancements, and changes.
• Create, test, maintain, and support in-house applications; design reports, audit trails, logs, and security mechanisms.
• Perform statistical analysis of system data and design operational and performance reports.
• Resolve user issues, coordinate follow-up with MIS team members, and provide technical assistance on complex program, database, and IT issues.
• Prepare tutorials, conduct user training, and facilitate periodic group meetings with meeting minutes and recommended short- and long-term solutions.
• Maintain system security, including user additions and updates, and safeguard sensitive vendor and contract information.
• Test programs and systems, integrate system modules, monitor IT quality-assurance standards, and coordinate data extracts and warehouse lookups.

Required/Preferred Skills
