V Group Inc. is seeking a Senior .NET Developer contractor to support the City of New York, Department of Social Services (DSS) on the M&O Services for DSS Application Systems project.

The role is based in Brooklyn, NY with a hybrid work arrangement and a 36-60 month duration. You will develop .NET and .NET Core applications, provide reporting, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverables, ensuring timely delivery and quality for government IT

Qualifications

• Experience building .NET and .NET Core applications.
• Strong understanding of modern C# development practices.
• Experience with SQL databases and ORM (EF Core).

Project Description

ITS serves all DSS program areas to fulfill their IT needs

• To meet the business needs and ITS' workload, ITS is seeking qualified candidates in the areas of Database design, architecture, and development, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries
• Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls
• Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management
• Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of various systems that ITS supports across DSS program areas

Tasks & Duties

• Develop .NET and .NET core applications
• Provide management reporting and information dissemination
• Identify user stories and translate them into technical requirements as required.
• Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality.
• Review the requirements with the stakeholders for their approval.
• Analyze and document current systems and processes as currently implemented.
• Make recommendations for improvements based on client feedback.
• Work directly with business stakeholders, clients, designers, other developers, and engineers to coordinate the building of applications to specifications and on time.

Skills Required

• Angular 8, ASP.NET core, C#, Entity Framework Core, and MS SQL projects
• .NET and Angular experience using SOLID design principles.
• Angular JS, Angular 8, TypeScript, React, and/or other component architecture experience.
• AWS and Devops tool suite like Octopus and Jenkins
• Atlassian JIRA.
