Job summary

ANDRITZ is seeking an Applications Sales Engineer (ASE) for the Paper Machine Clothing division in the Southwest Alabama region. The role leads the regional sales team, supports customers, and drives growth through strategic account management and on-site engineering guidance.

The ASE will conduct audits, service calls, and installations, while maintaining strong customer relationships and reporting activities to the Regional Sales Manager. Travel is required to cover the designated region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
• Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in industrial environments encouraged to apply; military background with technical leadership valued.
• Prior experience in customer service roles within manufacturing or factory operations is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with papermaking processes, industrial equipment, or technical sales support is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing role with problem-solving and operational improvement.
• Requires strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power BI, and general database management.

Responsibilities

• Communicates customer activity, sales opportunities, & competitive intel to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
• Provides assistance & guidance with machine clothing installations, developing supervisory & advisory capabilities
• Take ownership of a specified territory and devise strategies to meet sales objectives
• Makes in-mill repairs of machine clothing to allow product to remain in operation
• Develop strong relationships with customers through on-site support and frequent interaction
• Mitigates warranty exposure through early detection and prevention of potential problems
• Assists paper mills to set up proper records and complete value results platforms
• Build & maintain comprehensive databases on customer paper machine clothing
• Manage an expense budget within the guidelines provided
• Performs other job-related functions as assigned

General Description

Reporting to the US Southwest - Regional Sales Manager, the goal of the ASE is to lead the regional paper machine clothing sales team and drive growth. This position is responsible for the supporting customers in the area, maintaining current business and meeting customer needs while driving growth.
