As an Application Engineer in Core HR Tech, you will work with teams across the world to continuously improve the technologies that power Atlassian's People engine! You bring expertise in Application development (particularly Workday platform), and are passionate about working with a wide variety of technology tools and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Utilize your techno-functional experience in HR Technology and engineering practices to analyze requirements and independently design, build, test, and deploy solutions.
- Deliver Core HR technology projects or enhancements, primarily utilizing tools and capabilities from third-party applications such as Workday integrations and configurations, middleware such as Workato, as well as custom-engineered solutions utilizing Atlassian's platform tools.
- Contribute to the improvement of the team's technical processes and practices.
- Serve as a point of contact for HR applications-related inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely, high-quality support to end-users.
- Support data quality initiatives, ensuring accuracy and consistency across Workday and other integrated systems.
- Stay informed about Workday updates and industry best practices to continuously enhance system performance and capabilities.
- Ensure system security, compliance, and alignment with company policies and industry standards.
- Expand your expertise by learning and supporting additional technologies used by the People Technology team.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Application engineering with 3+ years of hands-on experience building solutions in Workday.
- Strong expertise in building Workday Integrations utilizing REST/SOAP, Graph API, Workday Studio/Workday Orchestration.
- Hands-on experience in Core HCM configurations, with knowledge of general HR functional processes and Workday capabilities.
- Experience using middleware tools such as Workato is preferred.
- Experience building solutions using Workday Extend is preferred.
- Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python), with an inclination to learn additional tools and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good understanding of HR processes.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn latest technology trends and innovate.
