Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Senior Application Engineer in Kentucky to bridge application engineering, product development, and customer interface for wire and harness products.

You will review technical drawings, create BOMs, and collaborate across Sales, Manufacturing, and Service to deliver robust solutions while driving ECN processes and Design-to-Cost initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Experience with engineering change management processes and BOM creation/maintenance.
• ERP/PLM systems experience and ability to work with customers on technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop new products and solutions.
• Create and maintain complete Bills of Material (BOMs) for customer quotation packages and production releases.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to provide technical support.
• Support engineering change management processes, including ECNs documentation and implementation.
• Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing.
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing product portfolios through updates and support.
• Participate in Design-to-Cost initiatives to improve competitiveness while maintaining quality.
• Contribute to sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
• Coordinate product launches by documenting, configuring product setups, and enabling manufacturing.

Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.The Senior Application Engineer is an intersection of Application Engineering, Product Development and Customer Interface in the wire and harness industry.Responsibilities:Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop new products and solutions that meet customer requirements.Create and maintain complete Bills of Material (BOMs) for customer quotation packages and production releases.Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to provide technical support and product expertise.Support engineering change management processes, including reviewing, documenting, and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing.Assist in maintaining and improving existing product portfolios through product updates, enhancements, and technical support activities.Participate in Design-to-Cost initiatives focused on improving competitiveness while maintaining product performance and quality.Contribute to simplification, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product portfolio.Analyze technical requirements and provide recommendations that align customer needs with Prysmian capabilities.Support product launches by coordinating engineering documentation, product setup, and manufacturing implementation activities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
