Job summary

Prysmian Group in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead process improvements, reduce waste, and boost quality across plastics and polymer manufacturing.

You will partner with production teams to implement effective methods, optimize tooling and equipment, and support new product introductions with validated processes and clear work instructions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in plastics or polymers.
• Six Sigma or Lean experience.
• Experience in New Product Introduction / Launch.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with production staff to identify and implement effective manufacturing methods and technologies.
• Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment setups to support stable and repeatable production.
• Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
• Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Provide hands-on technical support for daily production issues, including troubleshooting equipment and process deviations.
• Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on production goals and priorities.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support operator training by developing clear work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control methods.
