Job summary

Prysmian Group in Kentucky is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to translate customer drawings and specs into new cable product solutions.

You will create BOMs for quotes and production, work with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service, and support ECNs. The role emphasizes design-to-cost, portfolio improvements, and close interaction with customers and manufacturing to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products.

Qualifications

• Solidworks experience preferred and ability to interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with wire and cable products or harness assemblies.
• Experience with ERP/PLM/product data management systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and docs to design new products meeting requirements.
• Create and maintain BOMs for quotes and production releases.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
• Support ECN processes from review to implementation.
• Serve as technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing.
• Maintain and improve existing product portfolios through updates and support.
• Participate in Design-to-Cost initiatives to boost competitiveness.
• Contribute to simplification, sustainability, and continuous improvement across portfolio.
• Analyze requirements and align customer needs with Prysmian capabilities.
• Support product launches with documentation, setup, and manufacturing help.

Senior Application Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop new products and solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Create and maintain complete Bills of Material (BOMs) for customer quotation packages and production releases.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to provide technical support and product expertise.
• Support engineering change management processes, including reviewing, documenting, and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing.
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing product portfolios through product updates, enhancements, and technical support activities.
• Participate in Design-to-Cost initiatives focused on improving competitiveness while maintaining product performance and quality.
• Contribute to simplification, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product portfolio.
• Analyze technical requirements and provide recommendations that align customer needs with Prysmian capabilities.
• Support product launches by coordinating engineering documentation, product setup, and manufacturing implementation activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. (Solidworks preferred).
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations, wire and cable products, harness assemblies, or other engineered products.
• Knowledge of engineering change management processes and BOM creation/maintenance.
• Experience with ERP, PLM, or product data management systems.
• Experience working directly with customers to resolve technical issues and support product applications.
• Bilingual is preferred (Spanish).
