Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation is seeking an Applications Engineer to support technical sales and deliver pre‑sale engineering. The role focuses on defining scopes, assisting with proposals, and aligning Bevcorp and JBT Marel product offerings with customer needs.

Travel up to 50% is expected as onsite collaboration with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams drives ROM/SOW development and technical presentations to secure opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, engineering, marketing, or technical sales.
• Experience in food, dairy, and beverage process systems.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Position Overview

JBT Marel is seeking an Applications Engineer who will report to the Director of the Product Line. The primary focus of the role is technical sales and sales support, with a secondary focus on serving as a Product Proof of Concept engineer during low sales support demand periods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with outside/inside sales, engineering/design, project management, manufacturing, and installation teams to develop Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) and Scope of Work (SOW) solutions.
• Identify, understand, and define technical requirements to support quoting and proposal development processes.
• Provide technical sales support by working with customers to define scope of work and understand their needs versus wants.
• Represent Bevcorp’s portfolio of products and services and be familiar with JBT Marel’s portfolio to support the overall philosophy.
• Present technical presentations outlining Bevcorp’s current capabilities.
• Leverage technical knowledge to help secure sales opportunities through final customer acceptance.
• Develop cost estimates and project proposals.
• Collaborate with sales on future project opportunities, quoting activity, and status of sales opportunities.
• Obtain market intelligence and customer feedback to suggest potential improvements to estimating and sales/marketing processes.
• Work with procurement, engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation estimating teams to ensure efficient flow of information through the pre‑sale process.
• Resolve customers’ technical concerns with support from team members and departments.
• Collaborate with the product line team on technical roadmaps that support current markets and expand into new markets to support revenue growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, marketing, or technical sales.
• Experience in food, dairy, and beverage process systems.
• Technical design capabilities, including reading, developing, and understanding P&ID’s, blueprints, process flow data, and similar technical documents.
• Ability to develop and review technical written specifications.
• Experience developing proposals and presenting technical solutions as part of the sales process.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Travel & Location

Position is onsite and requires travel up to 50% of the time.

Salary

Estimated annual salary range: $80,000 – $110,000.
