Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer III to coordinate the planning and design of control systems, including programming and configuration. The role also involves mentoring other control system engineers on the team.

The position requires extensive experience with automation in HVAC projects, strong networking skills, and the ability to lead technical presentations and client training on system operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• Strong networking background required.
• 8+ years of direct automation experience with control system architecture design and programming.
• 6+ years of experience with Niagara AX/N4, Distech, Delta, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, BACnet, MODbus, Tridium, Schneider, and Delta.
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems - Unitary Systems to Central Plants.
• Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
• Participates in layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with the customer’s IT department.
• Runs complex reports to analyze system operation and demonstrates system operation to ensure alignment with contract scope.
• Develop written sequence of operation based on mechanical drawings.
• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems such as Chiller, Boiler, and various AHUs and energy solutions.
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation, create control algorithms, download source code to controllers and manage databases.
• Give technical presentations on building automation and emerging technology across multiple system integrations.
• Participates in final inspection/testing, ensures customer acceptance, and conducts end-user training on system operations.

Job Summary

The Application Engineer III will be responsible for coordinating the planning and design of control systems to include programming and system configuration. The Application Engineer III will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other the control system engineering team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
• Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
• Runs complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
• Develop written sequence of operation based on mechanical drawings
• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems such as Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions.
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation, create control algorithms, download source code to controllers and manage databases.
• Give technical presentations on building automation, controls, and emerging technology and experience in multiple systems integration.
• Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customer acceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations.

Compensation Range: $54 - $68 per hour
