Job summary

Legacy Placement Partners is seeking an experienced Application Engineer specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS) with strong DDC/HVAC controls expertise in Fort Worth, TX. The role focuses on programming, commissioning, and supporting advanced BAS platforms including Niagara Framework, Distech, Honeywell, and Siemens.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on DDC experience, familiarity with JACE controllers, and the ability to translate HVAC sequences into effective control strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on BAS/DDC/HVAC controls experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
• Demonstrated BAS block programming experience.
• Experience programming Distech, Honeywell, and/or Siemens building automation systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Niagara Framework.
• Hands-on JACE programming and commissioning.
• Experience developing and modifying Niagara graphics.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and sequences of operation.
• Experience with BAS integration, networking, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, controls drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Commercial mechanical/HVAC controls experience strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and troubleshoot DDC and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Perform block programming using Distech, Honeywell, Siemens, or comparable BAS platforms.
• Program, configure, and commission JACE controllers.
• Develop and modify Niagara graphics.
• Work extensively within the Niagara Framework.
• Perform system startup, testing, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning.
• Review mechanical drawings, control diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Translate HVAC sequences of operation into effective control programming.
• Troubleshoot communication, programming, integration, and system-performance issues.
• Verify proper operation of HVAC equipment and control sequences.
• Coordinate with project managers, controls technicians, engineers, subcontractors, and customers.
• Provide technical support from installation and startup through final system turnover.

Legacy Placement Partners is partnering with a leading commercial mechanical contractor to identify an experienced Application Engineer specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and HVAC controls.

This position requires someone with strong, hands-on DDC experience who can program, commission, troubleshoot, and support sophisticated building automation systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Niagara Framework, JACE controllers, and block programming using Distech, Honeywell, and/or Siemens platforms.

This is a BAS/HVAC controls position—not a traditional PLC or industrial automation programming role.
