Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks an experienced Application Engineer to design building automation and HVAC controls for commercial construction projects, collaborating with design through commissioning.

You will develop submittals, BOMs, programming requirements, and system layouts; program DDC controllers; create network architectures; and support project turnover and startup documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with control design or estimating software is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design building automation and HVAC controls systems from project plans and specs.
• Develop controls submittals, bills of materials, programming requirements, and layouts.
• Program DDC controllers and BAS for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Create building automation network architectures using industry-standard communication protocols.
• Review project documentation and participate in project turnover meetings.
• Generate startup and commissioning documentation for field teams.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.
• Occasional job site visits to support project execution and commissioning.

• Design building automation and HVAC controls systems from project plans and specifications.
• Develop controls submittals, bills of material, programming requirements, and system layouts.
• Program DDC controllers and building automation systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Create building automation network architectures using industry-standard communication protocols.

• Perform occasional job site visits to support project execution and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, application engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and building automation controls.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and controls design or estimating software.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with BACnet, Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Distech, Tridium, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Engineering degree or related technical education is a plus.
