Job summary

Alimak Group in Wisconsin is seeking an Application Engineer to bridge customer needs with technical solutions, serving as the primary technical resource for sales and operations. You will evaluate requirements, design tailored solutions, and ensure successful implementation of industrial products and systems.

You will maintain BOMs and manufacturing drawings, support fabrication and ERP data, and collaborate with R&D to launch product ranges in North America.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software (prefer SolidWorks).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of ERP systems, AS400 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides installation drawings for projects (guardrails, lifelines, and other systems).
• Maintains BOM structures and manufacturing drawings; supports fabrication with drawing requests.
• Supports supply chain with vendor inquiries and supplier evaluations.
• Performs calculations for product ranges and creates/updates BOMs in ERP.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal manufacturing regulations.
• Communicates quality issues and recommendations across departments.

The Application Engineer plays a key role in bridging customer needs with technical solutions, serving as the primary technical resource for the sales and operations teams. This position is responsible for evaluating customer requirements, designing and proposing tailored solutions, and ensuring successful implementation of industrial products and systems. The Application Engineer combines strong technical expertise with problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset to support business growth and operational excellence.

The Application Engineer will support manufacturing through careful maintenance of BOMs and manufacturing drawings.

This role will report directly to: R&D Engineer

Responsibilities & Key tasks:

• Supports Account Managers by providing installation drawings for projects for guardrails and lifelines or other installed systems.
• Supports Manufacturing with quality resolutions, manufacturing drawings, and maintaining BOM structures.
• Supports Supply Chain with vendor inquiries and supplier evaluations.
• Perform calculations for various product ranges.
• Creates, maintains, and updates BOM for projects in the ERP.
• Maintains and updates engineering documentation as required.
• Communicates and assists fabrication department with product drawing requests.
• Support R&D efforts to launch product ranges in North America.
• Support the beam, platform, Tractelift, and other product ranges.

• Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to manufacturing
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate quality-related issues and recommendations.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, precision, and thoroughness.

Qualifications & Experiences

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience and knowledge with CAD software (preferably Solidworks)
• Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of ERP, preferably AS400
