Job summary

FCI Basics, an Amphenol business, seeks an Application Development Engineer to develop opportunities and grow customer relationships across North America. You will interface with customers, product development, marketing and sales to deliver interconnect solutions. Deep PCB design expertise and proficiency with Altium/OrCAD/KiCad are required.

You will work with Windchill and Creo, perform hands-on prototyping and testing, and travel as needed to engage customers and lead design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• Deep expertise in PCB design, schematic capture, layout and component selection.
• Experience with at least one PCB/electrical design tool (Altium, Cadence/OrCAD, PADS, KiCad).
• Strong fundamentals in power distribution, voltage/current, grounding, and analog/digital basics.
• Ability to translate customer needs into product concepts and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Support growth in automotive, robotics, energy storage, and AI infrastructure markets.
• Develop customer solutions addressing technical requirements and new product concepts.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and customer meetings.
• Create technical presentations and proposal concepts for customers.
• Prototype, test, debug, and document hardware designs; travel as needed.
