Job summary

Southern Company is hiring an Application Developer I in Chicago to design and build custom applications supporting the AMI Technology portfolio. You will work with .NET, Angular, and API integration, plus CI/CD automation and AI-driven solutions.

Role requires strong SDLC knowledge, Agile experience, and the ability to communicate with partners at varying technical levels. You will contribute to digital transformation initiatives and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and development principles.
• Experience with Microsoft back-end technologies and Angular front-end.
• Hands-on CI/CD automation and AI-driven solutions experience.
• Ability to translate requirements into performant code and designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions leveraging COTS or customization where appropriate.
• Create and modify Technical Design documents.
• Collaborate to plan coding and program development.
• Translate specifications into code meeting performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing software.
• Participate in system testing and deployment activities.
• Develop documentation for complex problems with technical creativity.
• Provide on-call support and mentor less experienced staff.
