Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and delivery of our application development team. You will mentor engineers, coordinate integrations, automate processes, and contribute hands-on development when needed.

You will work closely with IT leadership and stakeholders to prioritize work, improve development practices, and evolve our enterprise applications using APIs, Azure services, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related Microsoft

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in application development, enterprise apps & system integration.
3+ years of experience leading technical teams, coordinating delivery, or acting as a tech lead.
Hands-on experience designing, developing, supporting, or integrating software using APIs and Microsoft technologies.
Experience with agile methodologies, SDLC, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and production support.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, DevOps, business analysts, vendors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations and delivery coordination for the Application Development team.
Coach and support team members across development, QA, integrations, automation, and low-code development.
Establish operating cadence with regular 1:1s, team meetings, status updates, and risk escalation.
Coordinate work intake, prioritization, resource planning, and delivery tracking across projects.
Contribute hands-on development, integration, troubleshooting, and problem solving as needed.
Design, develop, and support integrations using Microsoft technologies (Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform).
Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of solutions with quality and security focus.
Promote SDLC best practices: documentation, code reviews, CI/CD, release management, support transition.
