Job summary

Thompson Machinery is seeking an Application Development Manager to lead our application development function and deliver scalable solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. You will manage a team of developers, partner with business stakeholders, and drive process improvements across the organization.

The role requires leadership, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams including operations, finance, parts, service, and rental.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in IT or engineering.
• 5+ years delivering business applications and leading technical teams.
• Proven experience building and supporting solutions on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
• Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate into usable software solutions.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Experience establishing delivery practices, standards, testing, documentation, and production support.
• Knowledge of security concepts and alignment with IT security standards.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of application enhancements and new solutions.
• Lead Power Platform development and support, emphasizing Power Apps and Dataverse.
• Coach and develop application developers; balance workloads and growth plans.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with multiple departments to ensure solutions fit real-world processes.
• Work with Continuous Improvement to translate opportunities into software solutions.
• Coordinate with security, infrastructure, and support teams to minimize disruption.
